When and where is Eagle Camp?
Friday, August 24 - Sunday, August 26 at Sky Ranch in Van, Texas.
Who goes to Eagle Camp?
Eagle Camp is open to any new students who will be attending UNT in the fall. This includes both Freshman and Transfer students. Current students, faculty, and staff will also be in attendance. Eagle Camp is for all types of people. We have activities that cater to different personality types and work on team-building and making connections, so don't miss out!
Why should I attend Eagle Camp?
You get a head-start on meeting new people, making friends, and becoming a part of the UNT family 93% of the people who attended last year said they would recommend it! So maybe the question should be, "Why shouldn't I attend Eagle Camp?"
Does Eagle Camp conflict with sorority recruitment or marching band?
Eagle Camp DOES NOT conflict with Panhellenic's sorority recruitment. You will get back from Eagle Camp early in the afternoon on that Sunday.
Eagle Camp: Spirit & Tradition DOES conflict with marching band practice.
How much does it cost?
The cost of Eagle Camp is $125.
What if I don't like camps or the outdoors?
Lucky for you, Eagle Camp has such diverse activities that you have many options on the activities in which you participate. Eagle Camp is NOT a camping trip—you will be staying in air-conditioned cabins which have bunk beds and clean restrooms.
If you choose not to spend a lot of time outdoors, there are plenty of indoor activities to beat the heat at Eagle Camp. During open activity time, you can choose to lay out at the pool, play some games, hang out in the shaded pavilion or participate in more extreme activities like frisbee golf, the ropes course, ziplining and more.
Do I need to bring extra money?
Yes, it is a good idea to bring some cash if you plan to purchase any snacks from the snack shack or vending machines. All other activities and meals are included in the cost of Eagle Camp.
What do I bring to camp?
- Clothes for three days, two nights in the Texas heat
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes
- Pillow and sleeping bag or twin sheets
- Flashlight — a must!
- One-piece swimsuit and towel
- Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
- Toiletries and a towel
- Insect repellent
- Change for soft drink machine
What do I not bring to camp?
Any items that are extremely important to you or expensive should probably be left at home. Any alcohol, drugs or weapons of any kind (including pocket knives) are not allowed at camp. We take this issue very seriously, and if you are caught with any of these items, you will be sent home without a refund and referred to the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities.
