Friday Night
Scrappy's Extravaganza: Enjoy a BBQ dinner during the official welcome to Family Weekend at UNT. Listen to live music and watch the UNT band, cheerleaders, and dancers perform.
Parent Dessert Reception: The Parent Association invites all parents to enjoy complimentary dessert and spirits. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow UNT parents, see other Parent Association volunteers recognized, and hear updates about what is going on with the Alumni Association.

Komen Race for the Cure
Morning/Afternoon at the Movies: Bring the whole family out to enjoy free popcorn and a movie before the football game!
President's Breakfast: Join UNT's President V. Lane Rawlins and other UNT families for the North Texas-sized breakfast where you will learn about UNT's plans for the future.
Annual UNT Chili Cook-Off: Join us for the 14th annual UNT Chili Cook-Off! With an array of spices, sauces, meats, and peppers, our contestants will battle to find the top chili and delight all who taste their inventive home-grown recipes.
Family Weekend participants not wishing to enter can observe and taste as the cook-off takes place. Registration for the Chili Cook-Off does not register you for Family Weekend 2011. You must register for Family Weekend using the registration form.
Mean Green Tailgating: Get ready for the football game by tailgating with other families and UNT students participating in events for the whole family. Activities include a cookout and a carnival, as well as a pre-game show by the UNT Green Brigade.
UNT Football Game: Cheer on the Mean Green and show your Eagle Pride at the football game against Indiana on Saturday night! Football tickets are complimentary for participants.
Also included in Saturday's schedule:
- Walking tours of campus
- Trips to the Denton Square shops and restaurants
- Use of the Pohl Recreation Center for free

Family Weekend Farewell Breakfast: Enjoy a delicious breakfast with your student to celebrate the conclusion of Family Weekend 2011. Come and go as you please
Family of the Year Award Presentation: Help congratulate the 2011 Family of the Year. UNT students nominate their family for this honor by submitting an essay and the winner is selected through an all-student vote. This is the 2nd year for the Family of the Year award.
