The Deferred Scholars Program is an invitation-only opportunity for students who have demonstrated an ability to succeed at the University of North Texas, but who have not met all of the initial admissions requirements.

Deferred Scholars participants enroll in college level coursework at another institution for fall and complete a series of Student Success Activities, designed to help them with their transition to college. In addition, they have direct access to UNT resources to ease their transition.

Students who maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete the Student Success Activities the during fall semester will be automatically admitted to UNT for spring semester.

The Deferred Scholars program is designed not only so you can enroll at UNT in the spring, but will help connect you to the people and resources that will help you be successful throughout your career at UNT.
