About Freshman Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of North Texas, and welcome to the Class of 2018!

We are proud that you have chosen to become a member of our growing UNT family! In order to assist you with yor transition to UNT, all new students are required to attend an orientation session. Orientation is a 3-day experience designed to help students and families become acclimated to the university.

During orientation, you will have the chance to meet with faculty and staff, meet your new classmates, connect with current students, learn about university resources, and receive academic advising in preparation for registering for classes. You will leave orientation understanding our university's spirit and traditions, as well as what to expect as you embark on your college experience.

Freshman Orientation Dates for Fall 2014

Freshman 1 Monday, June 16 - Wednesday, June 18 - closed
Freshman 2 Sunday, June 22 - Tuesday, June 24 - closed
Freshman 3 Wednesday, June 25 - Friday, June 27
Freshman 4 Monday, July 7 - Wednesday, July 9
Freshman 5 Sunday, July 13 - Tuesday, July 15
Freshman 6 Wednesday, July 16 - Friday, July 18
Freshman 7 Monday, July 28 - Wednesday, July 30
Freshman 8 Tuesday, August 19 - Wednesday, August 20

Attending orientation will secures your commitment to UNT and your opportunity to register for classes. We encourage you to register for orientation as soon as possible.

Schedule of Events

Orientation check-in takes place from 1:00-3:00pm on Day 1 of orientation.  Our program concludes by 5:00pm on Day 3.  If you are traveling from out of state or from a far distance, make sure you arrive on time and plan to stay the length of the program.

Orientation Fee

The fee for orientation is $180 for new students who register on or before May 1, 2014 and $200 for those who register after that point. Register early!  

How to Register for Orientation

To register for an orientation session, log in at my.unt.edu with your EUID and password. Once logged in, click Student Center, then Register for Orientation. Register early as sessions fill up quickly.
